It's Been too Long

I have not had time to blog lately, but I hope the four of you who read (or at least who comment) don't mind. School started for me and I am commuting. That makes for VERY long days and EARLY bedtime. Anyway, I have so much to blog about. Here is the list:

Disneyland 5k
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
David goes to Alaska
School started
Fitness progress

Today - The 5k and Ruth's Chris. We (my husband, mom, sister, brother, Sean, Sean's sister, Sean's niece, and I) ran/walked the annual Disneyland 5k. See copyright images here: http://www.asiorders.com/view_user_event.asp?EVENTID=47941&BIB=245&S=230&PWD=

I walked and Cameron stayed with me this time. I did not think I was going to make it, because before mile 1 my back spasmed really bad. The medic came over to check on me and told me that if I needed emergency they would be there very quick. I stretched and decided I was not going to quit. Even if I crawled across the finish. I made it though. Without crawling. I came in, with my sweet husband, an 1 hr. and 6 min. I know, slow. But, I did it.

That night we went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. The atmosphere was great and the service was amazing! Cameron ordered the fillet, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. I ordered steamed broccoli, sauteed mushrooms, and potatoes. My meal was WAY over priced, but I did take a small bite of Cameron's steak and it was INCREDIBLE! I don't even like meat (all that much) and it was GOOD. We also ordered cheesecake for dessert and it, too was AWESOME! Maybe the best cheesecake we have had. We liked the decorations on the ceiling.

Sounds like you have been busy enough to have to take a break form blogging! I'm glad you're back! I would really like to try that steakhouse! Maybe we could go together sometime, I'm in desperate need of a date night!

It's an EXPENSIVE restaurant. Not one you go to regularly unless you are filthy rich.

Good job on the 5K! That would be fun to join you one year. I'm glad you didn't give up. Pushing ourselves is hard to do, but sure makes us stronger. I have a hard time with pushing myself, lately I don't want to do anything too hard.

That restaurant is beautiful!

Looking forward to hearing more,
LOVE YA!

Gene went to Ruth's Chris in the Bay Area while on a work trip (so work paid for it) and spent $95 just on himself!!! wowsers!

My friend Jana ran the 1/2 marathon at D. Land last weekend. She trained and trained for it and then a few weeks ago her knee started to bother her and it ended up hurting during the race, so she had to walk the last 6 miles! oh well... fun to do a race at Disneyland!

Good for you for finishing your 5k with a hurting back! (You know I can relate with a bum back!)

NOTE: We are coming home for Mitchell's wedding on Nov. 7... don't be in Utah during that weekend!!!

I was so happy to see you cross the finish line, Angel! I was looking intently for you and is was a relief when I saw you - and at that point I didn't even know your back spasmed! I was just so happy you finished! Great going! Even when tough! Sounds like life - and I bet we will all be intently wanting us all to "finish" and meet in heaven together too - with no one missing! That's a prize worth fighting for! You are my Angel - so thanks for your great example and pure heart!

Deb Lawson - tell your friend to run on a soft surface and stretch. When I ran my marathon, my knee started hurting when I got past 18 miles in training and I almost stopped, but someone told me to get off the pavement. So I ran laps around the Sierra College track (it was still there at the time) and worked up to marathon distance (105 laps - yikes!) and it helped. So Jerry Medlar had the same issue and he had quit training for a marathon 10 years earlier because of knee pain, but I told him to get off the pavement and he was able to complete this marathon too. I took pain medicine as the actual race was on the pavement, but was able to complete it running the entire distance. Now I don't run on pavement hardly ever and my knee is doing great.

Also - Crystal's temple sealing is Nov. 7th, so I'm sorry but Angel may be in UTAH for her sister's wedding!

Love you Angel! :)
