Mean People
I can't believe how mean people are! We held signs for Prop 8 today for about 90 minutes on a main corner in our hometown. When we were finished I felt like I had been beat. We were cussed at and out, saw the middle finger more than a few times, got lots of finger and head shaking as well as thumbs down. There was even one guy who came up to us and said that we should feel terrible because we were sending people to hell! He was very angry and had an opinion to tell. Even though we did have honking in support of us and thumbs up signals, I still felt beat. Why can't people just respect others' opinions in a safe, kind manner?

Wow, you guys are Awesome. I think that is the one thing I wouldn't do for this campaign. But I also live in Sacramento. I heard Charles and Danee's stories (similar to yours) and thought if it is that bad in the little town of loomis there is no way I am holding signs in Sacramento.
That's so crazy! I was just reading an article on meridian magazine about how there's this website trying to identify mormons who have donated $ to prop 8 and they want to smear them. Also the protests going on at the Oakland Temple! Scary. I'm sorry for the hurt that you have experienced, I hope that you feel peace now and your faith has increased by standing for marriage.
Love ya,
Leslie
